Ladies and Gentlemen, as President of the Central West Rugby Union, it is my honour to welcome you to Bathurst Rugby Club who are hosting the Central West Junior Rugby Union Grand Finals today.
I want to extend my deepest gratitude to all our volunteers, whose tireless efforts behind the scenes have made this season possible. Your dedication and hard work are the backbone of the junior rugby community. To the canteen helpers, the club administrators, the game day officials, the match officials, the Mums, Dads, Aunties, Uncles and Grandparents who spend their Saturdays travelling to ensure their children have a chance to play this great game – you are deeply appreciated.
To our players that are a part of Grand Finals today – congratulations and enjoy it. Win or lose, it is a huge achievement to make a Grand Final, they don’t come along every year. To the players in all other teams and clubs across the competition, congratulations on a fantastic season and we look forward to seeing you develop into future senior rugby stars in the years to come. We hope all players have enjoyed their season this year, made new friends and have grown their love of rugby.
Today we are treated to matches across Under 12s, Under 14s and Under 16s. Congratulations to Dubbo who feature teams in all three matches, Forbes for featuring in Under 14s and 16s and Mudgee for making the big dance in Under 12s. We look forward to a fantastic day of rugby. I would like to acknowledge and thank our match officials for today also – your assistance in essential for the success of junior rugby in our zone.

On behalf of the Dubbo Junior Rugby Club Committee, I would like to congratulate our 3 Blues teams on making this years CWRU Junior Grand Finals for 2025, this is a great achievement and a just reward for all the effort you have put in since preseason training began in March.
I would also like to acknowledge all of our clubs coaching staff for their efforts this year in getting teams on the paddock to compete in this year’s Junior competition, along with every mum and dad & care giver who has travelled many kilometres to allow their children to play the great game of rugby.
Finally, I would like to acknowledge all our match officials along with the Central West Administrative team of Jarrod Simpson and Jason Stuart for their efforts this year to ensure we have one of the best competitions in the state.
