Luke Humphreys – President, Central West Rugby Union

Ladies and Gentlemen, as President of the Central West Rugby Union, it is my honour to welcome you to the Orange Emus Rugby Club who are hosting the Blowes Cup and Ferguson Cup Grand Finals. Today marks the culmination of an incredible season filled with fierce competition, outstanding sportsmanship, and the true spirit of rugby.

I want to extend my deepest gratitude to all our volunteers, whose tireless efforts behind the scenes have made this season possible. Your dedication and hard work are the backbone of the rugby community, and we couldn’t have done it without you.

To our players, your commitment, passion, and skill have brought us to this exciting finale. You’ve given your all, week in and week out, and your efforts have been nothing short of inspiring.

To our sponsors Blowes Clothing, thank you for your support of these competitions and the union. Without this fantastic sponsorship we are unable to provide the services to our clubs that we do.

Today we are treated to matches across five grades, featuring four of our clubs. I would like to extend a congratulations to Orange Emus, Orange City Lions, Dubbo Kangaroos and Bathurst Bulldogs for making Grand Finals today – and we expect close contests played in the true spirit of rugby. May the games reflect your hard work and dedication. Make sure you leave everything on the field. However more importantly enjoy each other’s company and share a well-earned beer afterwards.

Thank you all for being a part of this wonderful day and let’s enjoy some fantastic rugby.

Luke Humphreys

President

Central West Rugby Union

Ryan Hogan – President – Bathurst Bulldogs Rugby Club

On behalf of Bathurst Rugby Club, it’s a real privilege to be here for this Grand Final. While we’re the visiting team, we’re excited to take on the challenge in what promises to be some thrilling and competitive matches. Our players have put in a tremendous amount of work to get to this point, and we’re incredibly proud of their dedication, as well as the ongoing support from our coaches, staff, and loyal fans.

We would also like to extend our heartfelt thanks to the Orange Emus for hosting us today. The hospitality shown reflects the true spirit of rugby, and we’re grateful for the opportunity to compete on your home ground. A special thank you to all our supporters who have travelled to stand with us – your support means everything.

President – Bathurst Rugby Club

Drew Walsh – President – Dubbo Kangaroos Rugby Club

What a season it has been for the Dubbo Kangaroos. A year filled with external challenges and curve balls has tested us all, but it has also shown the true strength and resilience of this great club. From players to coaches, sponsors, volunteers and supporters, everyone has played their part in keeping the Roos spirit alive and strong.

This weekend, we proudly take the field in four grand finals – Colts, Women’s, Third Grade and Second Grade – a testament to the depth of talent, commitment, and culture within our club. To see so many of our teams competing on the biggest day in the Central West Rugby Union zone is something our town and members are all proud of.

What stands out most to me this year is the pride and culture that has been reborn at the Dubbo Roos. There is a huge sense of belonging, of community, and of shared purpose that reminds us why we wear the Sky Blue and Red. As President, I could not be prouder to lead this club into the future. Win, lose or draw this weekend, the Roos are back – stronger, prouder, and more united than ever.

Let’s Go Roos!

Drew Walsh

President – Dubbo Kangaroos

Darren Wooding – President – Orange City Lions Rugby Club

Congratulations to all Clubs and Teams that have made today’s Grand Final. 2025 has been another great year of Rugby in the Central West so thank you to all the many match officials and volunteers who made this season great.

To Orange City, today marks the culmination of a season built on hard work, heart, and true Lions spirit. To all our players running out in the Orange and Green – congratulations on earning your spot on Grand Final Day. You’ve shown resilience, commitment, and pride in every match, and we know you’ll leave everything on the field today. No matter the result, your club, your community, and your teammates are proud of you.

Lets Go LIONS!!!

Darren Wooding

President – Orange City Rugby

Charlie Henley – President – Orange Emus Rugby Club

Welcome back to another Grand Final at Endeavour Oval. We’re thrilled to be hosting the Blowes Clothing Cup and Ferguson Cup deciders again, and incredibly proud to be doing it for the seventh time in the last decade.

Making any Grand Final is a huge achievement, but for our Men’s First XV to have now done it 11 times in a row is quite remarkable, and we’re stoked they will be joined by our Men’s Third XV once again as well.

This kind of sustained success doesn’t just happen, it comes from mountains of hard work. I’d like to thank everyone at Emus – past and present – for the effort and time they have given the club, to help build it to what it is today.

Congratulations and good luck to all the sides taking the field today, and congratulations as well to the match officials appointed to Grand Finals today. Thank you to all our referees, and assistants, throughout the season.

Thank you to all of our sponsors and volunteers, and those from Central West assisting today. To all supporters, enjoy yourself, I’m sure you’ll find there’s nothing quite like a Grand Final at Endeavour Oval.

Go Emus.

Charlie Henley

President – Orange Emus
